Vive la fête! Ah how we enjoy listening to one of Belgium’s most creative bands. And now they have released a new album, Grand Prix. Time to rejoice one should think. Hm but is all well in elektroland? Hm if you read the reviews, not really. After the universally critically acclaimed ‘Nuit Blanche’, Grand Prix gets a lot of mixed reviews. Hm, that’s a bit of an understatement, because if you read most of these reviews, you would think that Grand Prix is crap.
So what is it? Well, as always, the truth is a bit more complicated than this. Read our Vive la fête – Grand Prix review to find out!

City Parade 2005 news
by wimAs we already reported, this year the City Parade goes back to its roots. Started in 2001 by Claude Van Cools en Ricardo Sola, Liège will this year again be host for the biggest dance event in Belgium.
The Belgian City Parade 2005 has been officially added to the 175-25 festivities (celebrating 175 years Belgium and 25 year federation based government). Dr. Motte, the father of the Love Parade will be present on the City Parade as unfortunately this years Love Parade has been canceled due to lack of official German sponsoring.
On Saturday June 25th at 12:00, the opening party starts in Parc d’Avroy. From 16:00 the 36 trucks will drive slowly along the banks of the Maas river to Quai de Wallonie where the closing party will start at 19:00. (and finish at 04:00)
The official City Parade 2005 anthem Love is the message (written by Peter Luts) will be officially released on vinyl June 6th. Check out the promo link!

Danzel got married on 18th of May. On this joyfull day his new single Put your hands up in the air was also released. The new single follows the same style as his previous singles Pump it up and You are all of that… a commercial dance track, this time with a familiar ‘Put your hands up in the air’ sample.

Orion Too feat. Caitlin was one of our favourites Belgian trance projects from a few years ago. Although maybe not as popular in Belgium, chartwise, they conquered the hearts of many fans around the world (from Spain till Japan).
You and me, So Shy, Hope and Wait and Traveling were all great songs and we found it a pity that Call me was never released as a cdsingle.
Today, Orion Too feat. Caitlin says goodbye to their fans but not without a present: the album Never say never will be released exclusively on the internet via the Mostiko webshop! The album will not be released on CD.

Mascotte’s history goes as far back as 2001, when Igor de Kok and Philip van de Gehuchte were busy producing a mixture of elektrotrash dance tracks with a big splash of dirty punk rock. Their work attracted the attention of various international deejays and not too much later, Mascotte remixed Vive La Fête and Daan. The group also went from 2 to 5 people, and now, 2005, Mascotte has released its first full-fledged album on the unsuspecting masses. And do we like it?
